North Carolina Nature Conservancy (Durham)

The North Carolina Chapter of The Nature Conservancy has protected more than 720,000 acres of land. Most of that land has been transferred into public ownership, including iconic places such as Jockey’s Ridge State Park. The Conservancy is responsible for protecting 30,000 acres of the 44,000 acres that comprise the N.C. Coastal Reserve System from Bald Head Island to the Currituck Banks.
